Nevados National Park is located in the departments of Tolima, Quindío and Risaralda.

The journey begins in Palomar Anzopategui, Tolima. It is located 4 hours from Ibagué (Tolima). It is considered one of the representative icons of the muleteer and peasant culture of Colombia.

Here we will find Colonial architecture and a lot of biodiversity.

We are totally sure that you will descend and return to the city with another perspective of life and nature after experiencing all this magic.

DAY 1: VALLE DE COCORA QUINDIO / FINCO LA PRIMAVERA

  • 6 a.m. We pick you up at Casa Vieja.
  • We will travel by private jeep from Ibagué to Palomar Anzoátegui north entrance to Los Nevados PNNN Park.
  • We will arrive at the San Sebastian farm to have breakfast and to start our walk.
  • The walk begins at a height of 3125 M.S.N.M. We will cross humid and tropical forests, high Aldino forests and cloud forests.
  • We will arrive at the Termales del Cañon, located in Valle del Placer.

FUN FACT: You will see the “Laguna Bombona”, it is the third largest lagoon in the park. We will pass by the waterfall El Salto which is the first largest in the park

DAY 2: FINCA PRIMAVERA / CAMPO BASE AVANAZADO

  • We will enjoy hot springs and prepare the technical team.
  • We will teach you a basic technical training on the progression of the glacier and the appropriate rules to transit it.

DAY 3 CAMPO BASE /CIMA 5220 MSNM NEVDO DEL TOLIMA FINCA PRIMAVERA

  • 12 am We will leave for the summit of the Nevado del Tolima volcano (5220 M.S.N.M).
  • You will be able to see a spectacle of shooting stars and constellations in the sky.
  • This is the longest and most difficult journey.
  • We will climb to the glacier edge and later to the summit, this walk can last from 6 to 8 hours to climb.
  • We will descend to the base camp Termales del Cañon. We will enjoy hot springs and have lunch!

DAY 4: PRIMAVERA / VALLE COCORA

  • 8AM We will leave in the direction of PALOMAR to finish the journey of conquest to the DULIMA summit.
  • It will be the same approximate route as the first day of the start of our journey and expedition.
  • Return to Casa Vieja in Ibagué

  • Complete glacier technical equipment (helmet, harness, crampons, pole and rope)
  • Logistics for the entire trip, pack mules for the bag and equipment.

  • Transportation Ibagué, Palomar, Ibagué.

Includes payment for camping on the farms.

Type of requirement: Irregular terrain, very little traveled or narrow paths, walking on snow and glacier, vertical rock ascents, tropical climate – cold – frost.

Temperature: between 10 to 18 degrees Celsius during the day, between 5 and -2 degrees at night, early morning and dawn.

Items I should take on my trek:

  • Backpack of between 30 and 50 or 90 liters comfortable to carry the necessary elements during the walks and for the attempt to the summit
  • Comfortable tennis shoes preferably high-top boots
  • Thermal clothing, jacket, glasses with high UV protection.
  • Medications, allergy pastes, headache medications, flavored serum powder, toilet paper, toiletries, gloves, socks, bags for our garbage, sunscreen, Vaseline or medicated chapstick.
